Small Business Week: Recognizing our small business clients
This week is national Small Business Week, which recognizes the contributions of small businesses to the economic well-being of America. In honor of Small Business Week, we're highlighting a few of our small business clients. Our first client is Food for Good Thought, Inc., based in Clintonville, Ohio.
Clinical psychologist Dr. Audrey Todd founded Food for Good Thought in 2009 after her son Liam was diagnosed with autism. The company is a for-profit gluten-free bakery and a nonprofit organization that provides vocational training and employment for individuals with autism. After an initial rejection from another bank, Todd visited Huntington's Clintonville branch and was approved for a small business loan.
With that loan, Todd purchased the property for her bakery, employed a program director and provided vocational training for two teenagers with autism, as well as her own son. The property she purchased is the longest standing natural health clinic in Columbus and she is now able to continue that tradition with her gluten-free bakery. The company also caught the attention of INK Distribution, the bakery distributor for Kroger.
